How to update & install CyanogenMod 9 with Android 4.0.4 on LG optimus gt-540

I believe XDA developers hardly sleep.They have been developing mind blowing rom’s for different phones.This rom is for all the LG optimus GT-540 users.Rom is named as ICECREAMSWIFT developed by XDA developer named -miroslav_mm .We have also mentioned some prerequisite which you must follow for proper installation.This update will enable Ice cream sandwich with CM9 on your device.

Pre-requisites to install CyanogenMod 9 with Android 4.0.4 on LG optimus gt-540

  • Your phone must be atleast 60 % charged otherwise it will get switched off due to shortage of power.
  • Import your Contacts to  your SD card,after a importing a .vcf file will be created which would contain all the contacts which you can later on export.
  • Taking a backup of the call logs,Messages,Notes is advisable as it get’s erased during the updation process.We can later on Import the following back again.
  • Enable USB debugging on your phone. Follow the path  Enter “Settings” and select  “Applications” from where your will see a option “Development “just tick  USB debugging there and USB debugging would be enabled on your mobile device.
  • All the antivirus on your phone and PC should be disabled.
  • This update is only for Lg optimus GT-540 and not for any other LG device
  • Make sure you have installed proper kernel

  • Download ICE Cream swift  latest Build  from the give download link
  • Connect your phone via USB cable to your PC
  • Place the downloaded file on the SD card and make sure you donot place it too inside the Card
  • Switch off the Optimus and enter into Recovery mod
  • Enter recovery mode by pressing the Volume up +down key with power button simultaneously
  • Use power button to select files and volume up and down key to select files
  • Select ‘Install ZIP from SD card’ and then select ‘Choose ZIP from SD card’ Select the file” “update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-IceCreamS”
  • After selecting the file it will show a message “reboot now”

Bravo,You are done with the update now you can enjoy CM on GT-540.

Xda developers team hacksung after getting a Samsungs3 thru donations have come with some firmware works. There may be some bugs or errors on the firmwares as  this is a beta release by a third party developer.You can install cyanogen mod 9 on your S3 with this detailed guide.

Bugs on the Rom

  • FM Radio not working have to use spirnt FM from the market
  • Camera with LED flash not working
  • Volume up and Down key sometimes not recognized

Pre-requisites to install  CyanogenMod 9 nightly for Samsung Galaxy S3/ III GT-I9300

  • Your Galaxy SIII must be charged minimum 50-60 % otherwise it won’t complete the installation properly.
  • Clock recovery mod must be installed
  • Your phone must be have Clock work mod or CM root installed and if you have not installed it yet follow this guide
  • Import your Contacts to  your SD card,after a importing a .vcf file will be created which would contain all the contacts which you can later on export.
  • Taking a backup of the call logs,Messages,Notes is advisable as during the updation process it can result in loss of the following data’s.
  • Install Samsung Drivers From here
  • Wipe dalvik cache from advanced menu
  • Enable USB debugging on your phone. Follow the path  Enter “Settings” and select  “Applications” from where your will see a option “Development “just tick  USB debugging there and USB debugging would be enabled on your mobile device.
  • All the antivirus and firewalls on your PC and phone should disabled.

Procedure to install CyanogenMod 9 nightly for Samsung Galaxy S3/ III GT-I9300

  • Download all the packages:Cm download ,Nightly build and google apps
  • Copy all the files on to your internal SD card
  • Switch off your device and enter Clockwork mod
  • To enter recovery mode Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down button + Power Button till the time your phone restarts.
  • Flash CM 9 by Select ‘Install ZIP from SD card’ and then select ‘Choose ZIP from SD card’ Select the file” CM9
  • Reboot and  enter Clock work mod again  and select the file “Google Apps”
  • That’s it you are done with the update make sure you should not use titanium backup

If you have already installed CM and want to upgrade follow this tutorial:

  • Copy the CM9 file to your internal memory
  • Enter Clock work mod
  • Flash CM 9 by Select ‘Install ZIP from SD card’ and then select ‘Choose ZIP from SD card’ Select the file” CM9
  • That’s it you have upgraded your Cm now

  • To enter recovery mode Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down button + Power Button till the time your phone restarts.
  • Select ‘Install ZIP from SD card’ and then select ‘Choose ZIP from SD card’ Select the file” “MIUI rom”
  • Just select the file and wait for 5-7 minutes so that the rom get’s flashed
  • Reboot your device and wait to get started and enjoy the rom.
