  • Firstly ensure that you are running stock 4.0.2.A.0.62 firmware and also make sure that your Xperia Arc should have unlocked bootloader. Also make sure to install ADB on your computer.
  • ·        Now you need to Download the ROM.
  • ·        After that, Download Application Cleaner and also Download Google Apps Package.  
  • ·        Now after downloading the above three files, Connect your phone to the Computer with Original USB cable, place the three files in your internal SD card.
  • ·        Now disconnect your phone by removing the USB cable.
  • Now Download Kernel which would be helpful to flash the ROM and also Download Fastboot to flash the Kernel.
  • Extract fastboot ZIP file in your C: Drive and you will see a folder named fastboot which would have 4 files inside it.
  • Copy the ARC-ICS-562-DooMLoRD-Advanced-Stock-v01-boot.img file (which is the Kernel file) you downloaded earlier and now you need to copy it to the Fastboot folder.
  • ·        Now connect your phone to the computer with USB cable while holding Back key of your phone (key present at the bottom left of your phone). While holding that back key, you need to connect your Phone Xperia Arc to the computer so that it can connect in fastboot mode.
  • ·        Now open Command prompt by going to Run and then entering cmd. The command Prompt would open.
  • ·        Now enter the given below two commands while pressing enter after each command.
  1. cd c:\Fastboot
  2. fastboot flash boot ARC-ICS-562-DooMLoRD-Advanced-Stock-v01-boot.img
  • ·        Once the kernel is flashed, you will get a finished message in your command prompt window.

 

  • After that, disconnect your phone from the computer by removing the USB cable. Now turn on your phone. As the screen will turn on, it would also show the kernel logo. Now as soon as the LED lights up, start pressing the back button on your phone continuously until you boot into recovery. In recovery, you can use Volume buttons to navigate and Home button to select options.
  • Next, you have to select “install zip from SD card” and then select “choose zip from SD card”,   and then select the ‘ARC-ICS-DooMLoRD-Stock-562-ROM-v01.zip’  which is the ROM firmware package which you placed in your device earlier. The ROM would start installing and would complete in few minutes.
  • Once it gets completed, it will land again to the recovery screen.
  • In the recovery screen, you need to select “install zip from SD card” and then select “choose zip from SD card”,   and this time you have to select the ‘Application Cleaner’ which you placed in your device earlier.
  • Once it gets completed, it will land again to the recovery screen.
  • In the recovery screen, you need to select “install zip from SD card” and then select “choose zip from SD card”,   and this time you have to select the ‘Google Apps package’ which you placed in your device earlier.
  • Well, the installation process would complete in few minutes and once it gets completed, it will land again to the recovery screen.
  • In the recovery screen, you need to select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then option of “reboot system now” to restart your phone.
  • So, congrats, you are done with applying this update.
